Redlands firefighters were called to California Street near the 10 Freeway about 4 p.m. after people reported seeing an injured man. When they arrived, firefighters found a 48-year-old man suffering from multiple stab wounds.

Police also responded and found a 60-year-old man in the orange groves with multiple stab wounds. Witnesses saw the men arguing an hour before the incident. The men appear to have stabbed each other, said Redlands spokesman Carl Baker.

After Wooster historian Harry McClarran asked for photos of the Wooster Lumber Girls Fast-Pitch Softball Team, Vicki (Sutherland) Ritchie wrote to say she played the 1971 season with the team.

"Mr. Carter was one of the greatest sponsors that a team could have," said the former shortstop. "He made sure the girls had everything that was necessary to have a winning team.

"I loved every moment of every game," she continued. "It was a great team and a great league for girls and young women. I often wonder myself what happened to all the girls on the team."

Julie Wiles wrote to say she was the person who originally got Louie Carter to sponsor the Lumber Girls team when it was still Tri- City Cardinals of Dalton. She mentioned teammates Judy Stine, Darlene Sapp and Dot Meola.

Great pickles

Ralph Martin of Goshen, Ind., said he enjoyed the column about the Wooster Preserving Co.

"When Smucker's bought Wooster Preserving in 1964," he wrote, "I became the plant manager until it was moved to Medina with another pickle plant bought by Smucker's. We made great pickles."

Smucker's eventually exited the pickle business, he explained.

LAGOS, Feb. 12 (Xinhua) -- Nigeria is willing to enhance cooperation with China in the tourism sector, an official of the Nigerian Tourism Development Corporation (NTDC) told Xinhua on Friday.

Olusegun Runsewe, director-general of the NTDC said the corporation has designed a special website in Chinese language in a bid to attract more tourists from China.

The NTDC is a tourism body responsible for promoting, marketing and disseminating information on Nigeria's tourism industry locally and internationally.

"We receive over 200 enquiries from the Chinese audience on a daily basis, requesting to know more about Nigeria," said Runsewe, who is planning to visit China in early April to formalize arrangement with the Chinese counterpart.

"We have identified China as a big market for our tourism industry to move forward, because we see them as a strategy partner," he said.

There are huge opportunities in Nigeria's tourism industry for investments, he said.

"We have most of the biggest hotels in catalog printing world operating in Nigeria, but we want more Chinese to come into Nigeria because they are special," he said.

"They are lovely people, nice people and very hospitable," he added.

According to Runsewe, tourism industries had taken the driver's seat in the economies of many countries, noting that Nigeria is ready to enhance pandora charms cooperation with China in this sector.

"At least 114 world airlines flies into Nigeria on a weekly basis," he said.

On security, he said the corporation is committed to providing the enabling business environment for visiting tourists and investors.

"We have mapped out a security network and I can assure you that all is well," he said.
