DEIRDRE BOLTON, BLOOMBERG NEWS

(This is not a legal transcript. Bloomberg LP cannot guarantee its accuracy.)

DEIRDRE BOLTON, BLOOMBERG NEWS: FBR Capital Markets analyst Heath Terry is with us now with a little bit more on why Google is threatening to leave China. Heath, so glad to have you with us here in the newsroom.

HEATH TERRY, ANALYST, FBR CAPITAL MARKETS: Thank you, Deirdre.

BOLTON: Thanks for joining us. You were in the studio in the newsroom just a few moments ago. We were speaking with an FT reporter, Ben McClanahan, and he made the point revenue-wise, if Google pulls out of China it's really not that big of a deal to their bottom line.

TERRY: Absolutely. I mean, this is when you've got to do this. You've got to do it when it's not as important financially and when, you know, honestly for Google, this is at a decision point where they've got to decide whether to commit more resources to China or to make this decision.

BOLTON: Yet it seems to be very extreme when we're talking about China as the land of opportunity. I mean for the past few years investors have spoken almost of nothing but getting into China. So does it make Google look bad if they talk about pulling out?

Chanel Replica Handbags

TERRY: You know, Google has always been a company that at least from the outside has been about their ethics, their morals. I mean from the very first founders letter about "don't do evil" -

BOLTON: "Don't do evil," which was a very famous line.

TERRY: Absolutely. This was a big part of what the company's about, and I think they're one of the few companies that can kind of stand up and take this moral ground of saying you know what? We're just not going to be part of this anymore.

BOLTON: And just let's review, I guess, the context, right, that the Chinese government, the accusation anyway, is that they want to block emails that have the words human rights or make an allusion to human rights issues from Gmail.

TERRY: Right, and you know, this started way back when they insisted on filtering results and it kept going forward filtering YouTube, and it's just gotten to the point where this is taking it too far for Google.

BOLTON: Because Ben from the FT did make the point as well. Other countries have insisted on certain filters and Google has gone along with it, so now it's gone too far. But do you really think Google is going to pull out or are they just kind of starting the conversation?

TERRY: I think it's exactly that. I think they're starting the conversation. If they have to pull out they'll pull out, but I think, you know, the Chinese government realizes how bad it would look for them if Google pulls out of the country. I think the Chinese consumers have grown to be able to trust Google as Ben mentioned.

You know, you've seen market share for Google climb very steadily in China despite replica balenciaga handbags the fact that you've got some very big entrenched competitors there, and so for, you know, imagine taking Google away from U.S. consumers. They wouldn't be happy about it, and th

Faye feels pain as ref's howle

IT'S half-time at the Britannia and Tony Pulis is telling his players to repeat their impressive first 45 minutes when he notices skipper Abdoulaye Faye with his head in his hands.

TP: Abdy, what's up big man? We've got 'em on the ropes.

AF: I'm bored gaffer. Bored, bored, bored. Manchester City can't beat us here. We know it, they know it and the crowd know it. Tommy hasn't had a touch. Where's the fun? TP: Now hang on Abdy? You've got links of london that crazy glint in your eye.

AF: Remember last season gaffer. Down to 10 men and we still beat them. Now that was a challenge, The Brit was rocking. I've never felt so alive. Remember it Rory? Beatts? Higgy? Who's with me? TP: Now hang on skip... AF: Just think about it. We can beat these anyway. I suppose if the ref has a shocker we might only get a point, but it'll be magnificent."

Faye heads out of the door, turning to address his manager on the way: "I'm going out now, I may not be on for much time."

The rest, of course, is postcard printing history. The result a travesty.

Stoke would have been toasting a victory every bit as memorable as last year's 10-man win over Man City ... except referee Alan Wiley intervened and disallowed Ryan Shawcross's injury-time winner with a howler that was so bad you really couldn't make it up.

Maybe we should have known what to expect after the referee inexplicably missed Patrick Vieira's first-half attempt to turn Stoke's midfield playmaker into Chanel Replica Handbags Glenda Whelan with a petulant kick into the Dubliner's Ball Greens.

There can be no complaint about Faye's 53rd-minute dismissal for a professional foul after he pulled down Emmanuel Adebayor.

But no wonder Pulis was fuming when the ref disallowed Shawcross's header after the defender jumped to beat the keeper to Rory Delap's throw.

Roberto Mancini diplomatically claimed he hadn't seen the incident. When pressed further, he added enigmatically: "I'm learning, I'm watching Coronation Street."

Arsene Wenger must have made a guest appearance on the soap because Wiley's mistakes were plain to see ... even with Jack Duckworth's Sellotaped glasses.

The travelling supporters would have sooner been at home Clip on charms catching up with the latest in Weatherfield rather than suffered a first half in which their side was pinned back by Stoke's onslaught.

When Robert Huth glanced a header just wide from a Delap throw, desperate chants of "We want football" were heard from the away end. Presumably they were mocking Stoke, but Mancini may have thought they had turned on him.

Their frustration at being unable to combat the Potters was understandable.

After all, brochure printing the Mancunians have spent more than Pounds 100m on their team this season and have employed an Italian manager.

Yet they were hapless against Delap's howitzers at Eastlands and had no more clue last night, but were spared thanks to the referee.

Stoke's 10 men were magnificent and they so nearly pulled off a win to match last season's epic against the same opponents.

TP: (in the dressing room): "Ok Abdy, we

Fat oxtail was real treat for

T He main topic of conversation last week seemed to be centred on Valentine's Day, and I must admit I am probably like most men: I sit on my hands and let the day go by without making too much fuss. I did think this year I'd give the missus a bit of a treat so last Friday afternoon I popped up to butcher Bagshaws in Butterton and got him to whip the tail off a beast he slaughtered for us the previous Monday, for Jackie's boxed beef business. Call me old fashioned or just a stick-in-the-mud, but when it comes to proper grub, brochure printing and something to eat that you would die for, it just doesn't get better than a good old fat oxtail that has spent 12 hours bubbling away in the oven of the Aga with a handful of vegetables and a bit of salt and postcard printing pepper. T hey say you always remember special events in your life and when they happened. The very first time I had an oxtail with suet dumplings and the trimmings was with John and Shirley Plant at Style House.

It must have been 30 years since that meal, and when I think about it the old taste buds really start jumping.

To cook a tail properly it does take two days. Like all great stews it is always better cooked slowly, then left to rest for 12 hours and reheated the following day. The one thing that you have to have when eating oxtail is a complement of suet dumplings, turnips and carrots. I think I am right in saying that after our Valentine's dinner, neither of us would have swapped it for the finest fillet steak, it was so good.

Such is the demand these days for these relatively cheap cuts you have to be mates with your local butcher to get a regular supply of what was seen a few years ago as unsaleable meat.

Talking of belly pork, we went over to have lunch with one of my oldest mates, John Lewis, who owns The Moat House restaurant in Acton Trussell, which is one of the county's top restaurants. For lunch I had belly pork on a bed of black pudding. I can't tell you how delicious this meal was. Looking around the restaurant there were many more diners enjoying the same meal.

Father tells of pain after 'co

THREE men who beat Featherston man Paul Irons and left him for dead have been jailed for the "cowardly" attack.

Shaun Mihaka Sullivan, 26, was jailed yesterday for life with a minimum non-parole period of 12 years.

Rangitera Spencer Walker, 16, was also jailed for life, with a minimum non-parole period of 11 years. Both had been found guilty of Mr Irons' murder.

Andrew Dean Kupa-Caudwell, 18, whose father was a police officer in Featherston, received six years for manslaughter with a minimum non- parole period of three years.

Mr Irons' father, Jack, read his victim impact statement to the High Court at Wellington. He called the three men cowards, a word echoed by Justice John Wild during sentencing. The judge said the beating was "vicious, gratuitous and cowardly violence".

Mr Irons, 36, was hit, kicked and stomped on during the attack in the Triangle garden in Featherston on October 9, 2008. He was left half- naked in bushes, unable to call for help. He had been at a party with the three men earlier in the night.

He died in hospital after his family was told he would never recover.

Jack Irons said he had been heartbroken at having to make the decision to turn off life support and had never known pain like it.

"I thought my chest would explode, it hurt so much. We were told if he lived he would need care 24 hours a day for the rest of his life."

His son had arthritis in his spine and would have had trouble walking, let alone running away.

He said he was trying to be strong for his wife, two other children and three grandchildren.

"How to you explain it to the children, what happened? It was the worst thing that could happen to a family."

He said he respected Walker's family, who had extended their sympathies, but he could never forgive the men who attacked his son.

His wife, Maureen, said her kind and gentle son would never have hurt anyone.

She told the court she still had questions about why the three attacked her son and whether they got pleasure from it. "How would you feel if it was done to you?"

Justice Wild said Sullivan had 29 previous replica balenciaga handbags convictions, of which 12 were for violent offending. He did not accept his claim of remorse.

Sullivan had stomped on Mr Irons, later telling someone he did it to put him out of his misery.

Walker had been swept up in events and was not the instigator, but his actions had led to Mr Irons' death.

Kupa-Caudwell, who was 15 at the time, had stepped back before the fatal injuries were inflicted, but had participated in the violence, the judge said.

Kupa-Caudwell's lawyer, Paul Paino, urged the judge to give the 18-year-old home detention to allow him to finish his schooling. Kupa- Caudwell's family had moved away from Featherston, where his father had been a police officer.

Mr Irons' family did not want to comment after the sentencing.
